    Sun Valley has long been known as a mountain biking and cycling Mecca, with over 400 miles of single track trails snaking through the region. Lift-accessed gravity riding is available at Sun Valley Resort and Hailey and Ketchum also feature bike parks that have pump tracks and jumps. For road cyclists, Sun Valley has over 30 miles of paved bike paths with hundreds of miles of surrounding country and mountain roads.

    The Sawtooth Mountains are the backdrop to some of the best hiking and backpacking treks in the region. Guided trips and trailhead shuttles are available in town, or stop by the Sawtooth National Recreation Area Visitor Center for maps and trail guides.

    The fly fishing tradition runs deep in Sun Valley. Pristine fisheries like Silver Creek, The Big Wood, The Big Lost, Copper Basin and The Little Wood are teeming with rainbow, brown, brook and cutthroat trout. Just over the Galena Pass to the north, the Salmon River holds Idaho’s finest Chinook salmon and steelhead runs.
